Parish Activities

Activities
St. Francis Parish has many activities:
(Also, refer to: ...People/Contact List)

After Mass tea and coffee:
Tea & Coffee is served after 10.30am Sunday Mass in the Parish Hall; all are welcome to join us!
(There is a rota to help with serving etc., new helpers are always welcome - and needed! Contact Francis Flood or Marie Mead to volunteer.)

Craft Club:
This meets on the first Saturday of the month in the Parish Hall from 2pm to 5pm. Everyone is welcome, although children do need to be accompanied by an adult.
Please contact Marie Mead for further details.

Knitting & Craft:
Is practiced in the Meeting Room at St Clare's on a Friday afternoon. New members would be made very welcome. Please contact Theresa Davies for full info.

Brookside and Kader Walking Group:

use St.Clare's as their base on Wednesday mornings.

St. Anne's Club:
This club is for retired ladies, taking place each Thursday afternoon in the parish hall. For full information please contact Ellen McGee (01642 862295) for further details.

Justice & Peace Group:

This is a group that helps to raise awareness of social issues; it also promotes CAFOD and its campaigns. The group organizes events in support of our adopted Ethiopian hospital.
Helen Russell or Monsignor Robinson would be delighted to provide details to anyone interested in the group's work.

200 Club:
The parish has a 200 club run by Frances Flood & Marie Mead. Its main purpose is a weekly draw coupled to fund raising for the parish. Anyone wishing to join should contact Frances or Marie to check for membership availability - it is popular!
Frances & Marie are doing this work on a temporary basis; they would love someone to step in and take it over. Please contact either of them if you are willing!

Apostleship of the Sea:

This is the Catholic Church's outreach to the one million international seafarers who visit our ports each year. Our parish contact for this essential work is Theresa Davies. She would be pleased to advise anyone interested in becoming a port team volunteer, a ship visitor or a knitter-of-wooly-hats (which seafarers are always extremely grateful for).

St. Francis' Parish Social Club:

This is a popular club, situated above the parish hall.
The Parish Hall can be booked for private functions and community activities by contacting Maureen, tel. 07521 097144 at the club.
Or, full details of the club and its activities are available from the club secretary, Peter Dunne.

Parish Meetings:
A general parish meeting will be held annually; called by the Parish Pastoral Council it will report to parishioners on its work and, if required, appropriate elections can be held. This is our democratic forum for all parishioners.
